Claire Burns School Of Dance

The school started in January of 1994, with around only 20 pupils. It has progressively built up over the years with many pupils, boys and girls being accepted for professional dance schools. Some of these schools include - ELMHURST BALLET SCHOOL, DANCE SCHOOL OF SCOTLAND, LAINE THEATRE ARTS AND KNIGHTSWOOD MUSICAL THEATRE COURSE.

Many pupils have also successfully auditioned for SCOTTISH BALLET'S JUNIOR ASSOCIATES SCHEME, MOTIV-8 and INNOV-8.

There have been a steady stream of mini panto stars starring in productions such as  PINNOCHIO, PETER PAN and TREASURE ISLAND (to name a few) at GLASGOW'S PAVILLION THEATRE and KING'S THEATRE, GLASGOW.

Other pupils performances have included more contemporary plays at THE CITIZENS THEATRE, GLASGOW.

Senior Dancers have previously performed at HER MAJESTY'S THEATRE in LONDON, THE MILLENIUM DOME in 2000, and are currently involved in GO DANCE08 at the THEATRE ROYAL in GLASGOW.

The school has also produced 13 SCOTTISH CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES.

4 Scottish Tap Champions,  3 Scottish Ballet Champions and 6 Scottish Modern Champions.
